and guidelines you can use in doing our online program.)
2. The Due Dates under "classroom" is where the class
schedule of work is located. Note that the Due Dates have a start
and expire date. that means that the work will be available on
a certain date, and then once it has expired you cannot submit
work on that project, assignment or quiz, or test. So Please Keep
up with the work and "time sensitive" deadlines.
3. You may order your
books online. See the Syllabus for each class to find the
links to order your books.
4. Each Class starts off with Posting your introduction. This
allows your classmates to get to know you a little.
5. Read the Article
on How to Study Law, and then post your response.
This exercise is given to all classes, so you may end up posting
it more than once if you are taking more than one oneline class.
The purpose of this exercise is to study, and re-study the basic
elements in how to study law. Even the experts go back to the
basics to become "more expert".
6. You need to learn how to "cut or copy and paste".
Here is the information on how to do that. here
is how to "cut and paste". Please remember
to save all of your work before you send it to your professor
since sometimes email's are lost, or misplaced, and then you will
not have to do your work again if the online professor did not
receive your work.
This may be your first on campus or online/internet class. Sit
back, relax, enjoy, and of course, study hard and learn your law
materials.

15. The online classes do not meet at any particular time.
We will be using a new education software, called "ETUDES"

in our paralegal program. You can read about it a http://profj.us/etudes/faq.htm.
The Etudes Portal, which you should bookmark, is

24. These law classes may be your first classes in law. Law is
fun, but also difficult to study at times. If you need assistance
in learning how to study, then check out the study skills, especially
how to study the law. (remember: add 50% to the time you initially
think you need to study for this class. You should study at least
6 - 9 hours a week for this class - 1-2 hours reading the chapter
materials, 1 hour to post your discussions, 2 hours studying for
the quiz, and 1-2 hours for each written assignment)
25. It is important to learn the distinction between a case
and a code.
Also you will become more familiar how
courts work, and their role in the legal system. We will also
start to learn how to do legal
research and legal
writing in class.
26. Welcome to your online class. and let Prof. Jordan know if you need any help or assistance in this class.
27. One of the best search engines, even for finding law is Google.com, so try it. You may also find Findlaw very helpful in finding law, and answering your legal questions.
28. Information about Paralegal
jobs is located at Jobs.
29. Also remember that we have an excellent Index
of Legal Documents, and a
Site Index A-Z which you should become familiar with.
30. Students who do not carry at least a "D" grade may
be excluded from the class for "failure to perform satisfactorily"
in the class. It is the responsibility of the student to drop
the class, and not the responsibility of the online instructor
to "exclude" the student for "unsatisfactory performance"
(i.e. a D or F in the class).
It is also the sole responsibility of the student to DROP the
class if they need to.
