Getting Started for Faculty
Here are the Steps
to Take to get started for Faculty
Order an Etudes Shell
- this is your classroom. You can use this for your student materials
even if you are an entirely on campus class. - click
here to order.
Make sure you and
your students have set your "cache settings" - click here
Tell your students
to go to http://lamission.edu, then click on "students",
then "online classes", then "etudes classes"
to login to your class (same for you as an instructor)
When your etudes
shell is set up, you will get an email, with the location of
your etudes class, you should bookmark that.
To start work on
your etudes shell, type in username = "admin", password
="foothill", and admin code ="LFN" (all caps)

To have your class
roster inported into your etudes classroom, so you can email
your entire class, and post grades for your entire class, email

or jordandc@laccd.edu
and provide the name of your class, the Semester, and the Section
Number or Numbers. If you are teaching more than one class for
a particular subject, you can only have one shell, and you have
to then import all of those sections into one shell. This may
change in the future. Once you have emailed David Jordan, he
will email the District Coordinator, and your class roster should
be imported within a short period of time.
Once your student
roster has been imported, then go to your classroom, login as
administrator, click on student information, and you will see
a box with the words "auto import" and a *, and then
click on that, and your students will be imported into the classroom.
